Elgin CC Confined Time Trial League 2015

Well it’s that time of year again where the highly contested and prestigious ECC confined time trial league will kick off this Thursday at 1900hrs on the legendary Sheriffston 10 course.
16 Rounds across 5 months of pure TT fun coming to a head at the infamous Pluscarden Shield, who will take the spoils in 2015 and topple 2014 victors Ed and Neil.
First round will be at the introductory price of £1, yes that’s right £1 you will not find such pleasure cheaper anywhere else.
Anyone able to help with time keeping who are free on Thursdays and not looking to compete would be much appreciated, basic level of telling time and counting is all that is required.
Remember folks you don’t need a supersonic bike or alien helmet to join in on the fun just 2 wheels and a set of legs (shaving optional).

Sorry on the delay, official results from the first round of the club confined TT series including the handicap results.
Hopefully all OK and no i did not rig the handicap results.
Any complaints please send a SAE to the Elgin Cycling Club complaints department.

Time Trial Thursday is upon us once again at the Cloddach circuit 17miles of undulating terrain, meet at the Cloddach Quarry entrance, first rider of at 1900hrs approx.
Is anyone able to spare an hour to help out with the timekeeping and push off who isn’t planning on riding, any help much appreciated, we can get by with just the 2 helpers.

Course Details for anyone new to the event:

Turn Left back onto the B9010 heading east towards Elgin continue on road through Kellas and down the hill to the finish back at the quarry.

Fantastic turnout last night for the Cloddach Hilly time trial with 14 riders all excited at what lay ahead.
Big thanks once again to the three helpers Kenny, Claire and Russell.

Please remember no confined TT next Thursday as it is the Inchberry open so get your entries in before the closing date as ECC riders still eligible for points.

Another great turn out of ECC riders at the Inchberry Open time trial last Thursday with a good few riders setting PB’s on the night.

The results have been compiled to be included into the confined TT series, see below for the results.

Tomorrow (21/05/2015) we return to Speybay for round 4 of the ECC confined time trial league, 2x 5mile flat’ish laps round Dallachy Airfield.
Meet at the Speybay Public Hall, first rider off at 19:00 approx.

As always anyone able to help with time keeping/push off etc is much appreciated.

The time trial league continues to go from strength to strength with a field of 12 riders taking to the start line of last nights Speybay event, good to see some new faces having a crack at the world of time trial, on what was windy night which was really felt down the main straight although Geoff did not seem to be affected as he romped home to take the spoils 10mins ahead of his mum, all that road racing and training coming to good effect. A special mention to young Ava Luce who flew round the 5 mile lap in an impressive 34mins.
Big thanks again to Kenny for giving up his time to do the time keeping.
See Results Below:

Next week Badentinan 14 (2x7)

Tomorrows time trial at Badentinan returns for the first time this year for 2x 7 mile laps around the triangular course containing some treats for some to enjoy.
Meet up at the Badentinan water works road on the B9103, first rider off at 1900hrs approx.

Results from last weeks TT at Badentinan.

A return to the Sheriffston 10 tomorrow for round 6 of the ECC confined TT series, with series leader Simon Dewis relaxing in the Pyranees an opportunity for someone to steel the top spot.
First rider off at 19:00hrs approx.
And not forgetting anyone able to help on the night much appreciated (Timer / Pusher / Turn)

Official results for last nights TT at Sheriffston, once again a fantastic turn out on what seemed to be a fast night for some.
For the third time this year we have a new series leader, romping into the lead “the fastest accountant in the east” Edward Atkinson.
Also a big thanks to the helpers again taking time out to help the night run smoothly, Claire Crookston Lynda Anderson .
Those new to the world of TT last night you will have handicaps for future events so need to worry.
Next week we return to the Cloddach, 17miles of pure pleasure, see you there.

The count down is on, only two more sleeps till round 7 of the ECC confined TT series.
We return to Cloddach a 17 mile loop of undulating countryside to take your breath away …
Will Edward Atkinson be in attendance to strengthen his lead at the top of the table on his new stead, Will Scott Bell take the correct turn, Will Neil Crookston be happy with his performance ??? sadly it will not be broadcast live on telly so you will all have to come out to find out.
As always first rider off at 1900hrs approx … if yer late yer last.
A couple of helpers would be much appreciated as always to assist with stopwatch watching and pushing off.

Official results in from last Thursdays time trial at the Cloddach circuit.
A brilliant turn out again with 16 riders leaving the starting blocks but only 15 returning (by bike).
Helpers once again were on top form Claire Crookston Lynda Anderson +1
This Thursday we return to the Spey Bay Ring, the half way point of the season, Edward Atkinson will be out to gain more points after his lead being reduced at Cloddach by Mr Consistent Simon Dewis.
